A simple way to tell right from wrong
I’ve written a lot about how dangerous it is to reprimand others for an evil that you participate in. For example, some people “yell” that words hurt (political correctness) and then turn around and use words to completely destroy those who stand against them. Today while praying the simple answer finally jumped at me. If you always want to be on the side of doing what’s right for the human race – the best tool you can use is your family. What? Yep. If you have a spouse, some children, parents or even a second cousin or two – you can go to the heart of the matter and discover
When God is quiet….
How do you pray? Everyone has a different method. My brother-in-law had a one hour commute that he dedicated to prayer. He wouldn’t play the radio or think about work. Instead, he spent that hour calling his family’s names in prayer. Some people close their eyes while others stare at the sky. Some get on their knees and some take a brisk walk. And some people like me allow their mind the creativity to approach the throne of God as they imagine. When my eyes are closed I see the Almighty power of the Universe watching me from his throne in the heavens. His eyes are kind and his facial
Who can fix the world? Leaders or Christians?
The truth is that it takes both Leaders and Christians willing to participate in God’s plan in order to fix the problems of this world. They each play a role. Christians can change the world and fix it’s problems if they implement the Bible on a personal level and maintain a world view. Leaders can fix the world and it’s problems by providing the freedom needed so a Christian can complete their tasks. The leader does not necessarily have to be Christian but they must be sympathetic or lean toward protecting Christian rights and views. The Jews had very little influence in promoting a better way of life because Hitler
Is Christian Passion right?
Participating in an opposing view discussion about this election – especially so close to “E” day (Election day) may cause hands to shake, voices to elevate and faces to turn red. Passion flows like rivers. I’ve tried to see both sides and like others I’ve wished we could all calm down and just talk and pray, pray, pray. Today while having breakfast with friends (who agree with my views) a rousing discussion of the issues caused all of us to take it up a notch. My friend looked around and leaned to the middle of the table. He whispered, “I think we are a little too loud.” Passion flows
The voices in your head
I hope you had a wonderful week-end to concentrate on yourself, your family and the family of God. As we hurry into our busy day and look ahead to a full week of activities, it will be easy to lose focus on the important spiritual issues we have discussed. It’s been proven that humans can stretch their ability to concentrate, but after a while we become weary. Yes, this election process has stretched all of us to the ultimate limit. Like the disciples that couldn’t stay awake when Jesus needed them to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26), Christians often get busy with their own lives and forget
Just Today – Don’t pray for American leaders
United we Stand is also a great slogan for God’s family. I am always excited to see people praying. In our church, we gathered around an individual and laid hands on that person as we asked God to help them or bless them. So when I saw a picture of people laying hands on Mr. Trump and calling on the members of their churches and organizations to pray – I was excited. I had no idea that posting it on Facebook would let me know that so many Christians are hurting. If a Christian announces they are voting for Hillary, they may be instantly attacked by other Christians who are
