Cover the voting booth with Prayer
Are you terrified? Most of us will go to the voting booth tomorrow. If you have been reading these posts, you have prayed about our country and you want to vote so you can be part of God’s plan. You believe that God is all powerful and yet those spikes in your stomach let you know that you are still afraid. All it takes is one discouraging pundit and you feel sick. Why are some of God’s children still afraid? After all the testimonies, posts and prayer times – why can’t we just settle down and walk around with a smile on our face? Why are we still anxious about
Election still to come but….This is the day the Lord hath made
Older people are like children. It’s hard for us to stay in bed when we’ve met our sleeping quota. Turning the clock back doesn’t matter. If we aren’t sleepy….we can’t sleep. I was up at 5:30 this morning. The thought of an extra hour of sleep felt great last night but then this morning….I couldn’t sleep. I made coffee and found a comfy place on the couch. This picture is what I saw outside my window. I couldn’t get the following wonderful verse out of my head. This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 I’ve
Star Belly Sneetches in America
Several months ago my son Jamie took all of us to Seussical The Musical. After I prayed for America this morning, I thought about that show. I wondered if America is going to be like the Sneetches in Dr. Seuss’ book, The Sneetches. Now, the Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars. The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars. Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small. You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all. But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly Sneetches Would brag, “We’re the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches.” With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they’d snort “We’ll
Will YOU be indicted?
There’s talk about indictment and/or imprisonment for a lot of powerful people. Like many of my friends I am concerned about what will happen to citizens of this country if we have to go through months or even years of legal debates, lawsuits and the never ending headlines involving people of power. We are all exhausted with the last year of debates and mudslinging. This country’s people are at a breaking point. Nothing gets done when we are distracted by indictment or criminal behaviors. When your life, your family, your state or your country is in chaos, it’s hard to be productive and move forward. If you think electing a
Can you pray for me?
Mom took a while to finish supper tonight. She wanted to talk so I sat at the table with her, but she just stared out the window. When I tried to prompt conversation, she asked me to leave her alone until she was finished. With Dad gone I can see the pain in her eyes. They were together for 65 years. Unlike couples who spend the work day apart, mom and dad worked together. Side by side, sharing each other’s burdens, day after day. For the last three years mom and dad were like peas in a pod. They sat together, ate together, ventured out on the porch – together
I believe in Miracles….
Over the years I’ve listened to the stories of miracles recounted by wonderful Christian members and pastors. I’ve watched as my parents experienced exciting miracles. Those miracles were things that could NOT have happened on their own and took place against all odds. On a world wide missionary trip Dad saw blind eyes open and a leg grew 5 inches while the 2,000 person crowd wildly praised God. A man’s hearing was healed, a toddler walked away from his death bed and dad faced Satan in VooDoo country. More importantly to my own faith, I know I wouldn’t be here if God had not answered prayers with a miracle. When
