While sipping a cup of coffee this morning, I watched a school bus pick up several excited children.  I prayed that more children would be excited about school.  Most of society’s problems would melt away if more children were more interested in learning than in finding out who ranks highest on Candy crush or some other video game.  My children succeeded in school because they were good readers.

The problem for most parents is how to inspire your children to love reading when television, iPhones, ipads and video games offer more stimulating experiences.  My good friend Jim Denney has written a wonderful guest post for parents.  He lays it out in true Mommy Detective fashion with 10 wonderful tips that will inspire your child to read.

Jim is not only a wonderful author, but he’s a devoted father who wants the best for his own children.  I hope you will check out his guest post at the Mommy Detective.  I also hope you will check out Jim’s websites and his books for parents and children.  I have read his Timebenders books and they are wonderful! He knows how to capture a child’s imagination and still make these wonderful fictional books exciting and fun for an adult.  I passed them on to my sons even though they are grown.  As Jim suggests, read these books with your children and you both will have a fantastic evening!
