When someone tells me they have lost a loved one, I fight tears because I’m familiar with that pain.  There is nothing more heartbreaking than the pain of separation we experience when the person we love is no longer in our lives.  I wrote a devotional called “Across the River” that I’ll post later.  The void left in our hearts is never filled by good words, hugs, sweet memories or even the knowledge that we will see them again in Heaven.  Yes, those things help but they don’t completely heal.  It takes time for the wound to heal.  It takes time for the scare to harden so it’s not sore to the touch. Grieving can’t be rushed.  Only time will soften the blow.

Please pray for our family as we grieve the loss of Helen Jansen.  She was a strong Christian, a loving woman and totally committed to her family, friends, and faith.  She was a huge part of our lives and we will miss her.  Pray for the family and friends she left behind.

I hope you will find the following memorial video helpful.  Not only does it allow me to share this spirit of this wonderful lady but I pray it will also encourage you or help you to see your loved one in the pictorial of Helen’s life.
